The Spring 2013 Couture shows are now over and and as for Hell Yeah Rachel Zoe, the title of “Best in Show” goes to Alexis Mabille!  This blogger feels that the designer created a sumptuous collection - inspired by French candy - against a backdrop straight out of an old Hollywood musical.  The designer showed designs that are true haute couture: dream-like silhouettes, impeccable detail and colors out of a fairy princess boudoir.  All in all, a great collection.  It’s everything!

Trend Report from the Spring 2013 Couture Shows

STREET FASHION: The looks that came from the attendees at the Spring 2013 Couture Shows were definitely winter-inspired.  Rich, dark fabrics, lush furs, opaque patterns and all white looks were seen all week long.  Great ideas for this current winter and the upcoming cold seasons. So major!

To close off for today let’s go out with a big Ta-da! courtesy of the one and only Zuhair Murad and his opulent Spring 2013 couture collection worthy of a Greek goddess.  Shutting it down!

As much as others claim that florals and romanticism is no longer the mode there’s been plenty of it at the Spring 2013 couture shows and nowhere was it seen more  than at Elie Saab who took a bit of a dark turn by presenting designs with just a touch of the Gothic.  Ah-mazing!

The avant-garde was present at the Spring 2013 couture shows and it came courtesy of the ever innovative Maison Martin Margiela who took inspiration from the silhouettes of the 1920’s and its Art Deco patterns.  So major!
